Subject	Electric fan always on with ignition. what's up?

Message	I did some maint. today, but nothing that would cause this. When I went to start the car again the fan came on and stayed on until I got home. Check engine light was also on. The fan runs on high speed. When I pull the relay it runs on medium. Any ideas? the maint. was spark plugs, clean air filter, and oil change. thanks guys. -ken
